ARAKAWA EUROPE GmbH is a joint venture between Arakawa Chemical Industries, Ltd. Osaka, Japan and The Dow Chemical Company, Midland, Michigan, USA.
Its purpose is to market high-quality Hydrogenated Hydrocarbon Resins under the ARKON* trademark, produced at a plant on the Dow Olefinverbund GmbH Böhlen site, in Germany.
It combines Arakawa Japan’s pioneer technology for hydrogenation of petroleum resins and their broad market recognition with Dow’s integrated raw material base and strong manufacturing capability. Arakawa Europe has its headquarters in Schwalbach, Germany, near Frankfurt.
